Connecting your TV

  1. Your iPhone and the TV need to be on the same Wi-Fi network.
  2. Turn on developer options on the TV, then network debugging (on some models it's called ADB debugging or Wireless debugging). The in-app setup guide shows the steps for your TV maker.
  3. When the TV asks whether to allow debugging from this iPhone, choose Allow. Tick "Always allow" so it doesn't ask every time.
The TV can't be found? Restart the TV and check that the iPhone isn't on a guest network or a VPN. Some routers keep devices apart (client or AP isolation); turn that off or use the TV's address from its network settings.

Questions

Which TVs does Clean My TV work with?

TVs and boxes that run Android TV, Google TV or Fire OS: TCL, Sony, Hisense, Philips, Xiaomi and other Android TV makers, Chromecast with Google TV, Fire TV Stick and NVIDIA SHIELD. Samsung, LG and Roku TVs run other systems and are not supported.

Why does the app ask me to turn on debugging on the TV?

Clean My TV talks to the TV over your Wi-Fi through the TV's own debugging connection (ADB). That is how it reads the app list, clears cache and turns apps off. It stays on your home network and goes through no server of ours.

Can I undo what the app turned off?

Yes. Every change is in History: turn one app back on there, or use Restore to turn everything back on at once. Turning an app off doesn't delete it.

An app came back after a TV update.

TV updates sometimes switch preinstalled apps back on. They show up in the "Back After an Update" row; Keep It Clean turns them off again by itself.

How do I get the stock home screen back?

In the app, open the home screen section and switch the launcher off. The TV goes back to its own home screen.

What is free and what needs Pro?

Free: clearing cache and background apps, Light Speed Up, the remote, opening apps, turning apps back on and the home screen in the Classic theme. Pro: turning apps off, Balanced and Max Speed Up, Block All Ads, Keep It Clean, a second TV and every home screen theme.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are handled by Apple. On your iPhone open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose Clean My TV and tap Cancel Subscription. Refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
